Monu’s journey in the culinary world started when he joined Butterflies NGO’s School of Culinary and Catering (BSCC), a renowned institution in Delhi. Here, he became a part of Chakhle Dilli Catering, a catering service that had a unique philosophy of “YOU BUY, THEY STUDY.”
This philosophy meant that every purchase made from Chakhle Dilli Catering would contribute to funding the education of underprivileged children at Butterflies School of Culinary and Catering.
With a smile that radiated joy and enthusiasm, Monu quickly became known for his dedication and hard work. He embraced every opportunity to learn and grow in the culinary field. Monu’s positivity and eagerness to learn caught the attention of the chefs at Pullman-Novotel New Delhi Aerocity, a prestigious hotel where he secured an internship in the kitchen. In the hotel, Monu had the privilege of working alongside experienced chefs and learning from their expertise.
He found immense joy and fulfillment in the fast-paced environment of the professional kitchen. Monu was grateful for the opportunities he was given, as they allowed him to further develop his skills and gain practical experience in preparing and presenting dishes. Monu’s dream is to specialize in Indian cuisine, a passion that stems from his childhood memories of playing “Gilli Danda” and savoring the mouth-watering street food in Delhi.
He wishes to explore the vast array of spices, regional dishes, and cooking techniques that make Indian cuisine so unique. With his infectious smile and unwavering determination, Monu Kohli is well on his way to realizing his dreams. He continues to seize every opportunity to learn and grow in the culinary world, hoping to one day become a renowned chef specializing in Indian cuisine while sharing the flavors of his childhood with the world.
